Despite some of the reviews that indicated Christopher Butler’s tone was negative toward Postmodernism in this VERY SHORT INTRODUCTION, I found the book very helpful with my growing understanding of meta-narrative terminology and classifications. Also, as pointed out by other reviewers, is the fact that defining a meta-discourse that supposes universal definitions are not possible, poses special problems that I feel Butler handled very nicely.
Butler, simply and rightly, maintained his neutrality on the subject, which it seems, should be the first of Post-modern goals. In other words, Postmodernism is neither good nor bad.

Beware of this book!! Oprah is pushing it. It is scary that someone would be bold enough to write a book from God’s point of view contrary to His Word. Please send to all with kids or grandkids…

The name of the book is Conversations with God.. James Dobson talked about this book twice this week. It is devastating. Parents, churches and Christian schools need to be aware of it. Please pay special attention not only to what your kids watch on TV, in movie theaters, on the Internet, and the music they listen to, but also be alert regarding the books they read.
Two particular books are, Conversations with God and Conversations with God for Teens, written by Neale D. Walsch. They sound harmless enough by their titles alone. The books have been on the New York Times best sellers list for a number of weeks, and they make truth of the statement, “Don’t judge a book by its cover or title.”
The author purports to answer various questions asked by kids using the “voice of God”. However, the “answers” that he gives are not Bible-based and go against the very infallible word of God. For instance (and I paraphrase), when a girl asks the question “Why am I a lesbian?” His answer is that she was ‘born that way’ because of genetics (just as you were born right-handed, with brown eyes, etc.). Then he tells her to go out and “celebrate” her differences.
Another girl poses the question “I am living with my boyfriend. My parents say that I should marry him because I am living in sin. Should I marry him?”
His reply is, “Who are you sinning against? Not me, because you

This is my 3rd steam cleaner, and by far the best. I have only used it twice but the results were awesome and other things stood out as excellent

*I see no ’sensitive’ parts that are likely to break
*Its structure seems really robust
My other cleaners have had valves,springs etc that broke very quickly incapacitating the whole thing. They used 3 filling stations the steamVac only has 2, I am loviing it.

We purchased this vacucum a little over a year ago. We had new carpet put in and I was impressed by how much fuzz it picked up. It seems to get a good amount of dirt as well. The only down side I found is the size of the bag. It fills up very quickly. I use my vaccum every other day and I have to change the bag once a month. However, I feel like it is cleaning really well, so I can live with purchasing the extra bags. I think this is a good vaccum for the price and I would buy it again.

This scale is very unreliable and inaccurate. I never get the same reading twice within a short time. Even if I pick it up and then allow it to “recalibrate”, the readings vary constantly.
Update: After posting the above review, the company contacted me and offered to send a new scale. This is excellent customer service. The new one worked better, but I was still disappointed. I should have read the description more carefully, because the scale is not as precise as you would expect from a digital scale. The weight it gives me can vary by as much as .4 pounds within a few minutes. If you recalibrate it, it will give a slightly different weight.

How do you start a review about something that changed you? Changed your perspective of life and set you free. I was not introduced to this book by anyone. Well, except for God. The title itself stood out because on that particular day, I was fasting and I felt connected with God, more than I have ever been connected in my life. I was centered and I was at peace. I was directed to this book with no lie. I told God that I wanted to get closer to him and that I wanted to understand him more. I was currently going to a Christian church, though I didnt consider myself a Christian or any religion for that matter. All I knew was that I believed in God and that religion was so limited. So if you are religious, this book is not for you because it is going to knock things your religion may teach.
As soon as I opened up the book, I was attached. I did not want to put the book down! Its like every question I had about life and about God and about all of the mysteries were answered. The only reason why I took the information in was because it felt right. And bottom line thats what matters. If it suits you it is you. All of the questions I had that had to deal with religion and why God is to feared or Why do we have all of these rules were answered. The reason why I was not a Christian was because a big thing they promote is Fear God. But when I was saved, when I was shown the light,when God basically lifted me up, I thought to myself ” Why in the world would I want to fear something so beautiful?” It just didnt suit me. So this book set me free from all of those Christian scriptures. But it opened me up to other religions that held truth. Basically, there is not one right religion, every religion holds truth to it but not 100%. And this is something I thought, so it suited me.
I love this book with all my heart because it lead to me setting myself free. Not caring what people thinks, Its my life it never ends I am a soul before I am this Human.There is no such thing as time on
